Service Policy and Plans
Under normal conditions, Intermec supports a product for a minimum of three (3) years (though typically longer) after product retirement. Intermec's ability to continue support after the initial three year period is dependent upon availability of spare parts and vendor obsolescence issues that are beyond the control of Intermec. Service will continue to sell most CK32 accessories after End of Build. It is still recommended to purchase needed accessories before End of Build to ensure needed quantities.
Contractual Agreements
Individual customer contractual agreements for these products are outside the bounds of this retirement notice. Intermec will endeavor to support these agreements to the best of its abilities. Please communicate any concerns or queries to tsporre@bluestarinc.com
Medallion Contract Renewals
Now is the time for customers to protect their CK32 investment for the next three years by renewing or extending their current contract. Customers should be encouraged to contact their local Intermec representative for more information on maintenance contract renewal.
Recommended Migration Paths
Intermec offers an ATEX portfolio of Non-Incendive (NI) products through ECOM Instruments. The CN3, CN3e, CN4 and CN4e are ATEX certified for category 3 and for use in zones 2 and 22, gas and dust. ECOM branded products are being sold via ECOM sales and sales channels.
Intermec is evaluating its strategy for bringing intrinsically safe (I-Safe) products to market that are certified to the level of ATEX and IECEx Division 1, Zone 1. Eventual CK32 product replacement options are part of this evaluation.
