ADC Nordic AB announced the completion of its acquisition of Secus Technologies 2006-05-22
The combination of ADC Nordic AB and Secus Technologies created one of the Nordic largest, most local and diversified barcode and RFID Company. The acquisition brought together some of the industry’s strongest hardware and software brands.
The Secus brand is no longer used. All business is done through ADC Nordic AB.

The Secus Group - the History
Background
The company group was founded in 1977 and was an independent Value Adding, 2-tier Distributor. It supplied resellers, system integrators and other specialist companies in the Nordic market with hardware, shrink-wrapped software, software development services, supplies, spare parts, support and maintenance services as well as an efficient distribution set-up. Combined with a vast experience, a major value-adding platform is offered its partner network. All sales were channelled through a reseller network.
All of Secus distribution is now done through the brand and name ADC Nordic.
Secus Objective
The group put its focus on professional customer segments in Point-of-Sales, transport & logistics, manufacturing and raw-material handling, the public sector, with focus on the health care area, as well as ticketing, membership and loyalty applications. Maturing products in existing and close-by segments that becomes "distributable" are added to the range for continuous growth. An aggressive marketing stance, including distribution and support efforts, was basic features of the corporate policy.
ADC Nordic learned a lot from Secus and has incorporated all of the best features from the Secus Company.
Channels to market
The Secus Group marketed its products and related services through approximately 2,000 resellers, VARs and system integrators in Sweden, with another 1,000 in Norway and Finland respectively. The Group was efficiently organized and geared to meet demands for fast, high-volume deliveries, technical support and information as well as maintenance needs requested by resellers and their customers.
ADC Nordic has taken over all of the resellers from Secus in Sweden, Norway, Finland and Denmark and now supply them with POS and Auto-id products.
